Gaithersburg St. Patrick’s Day Parade
On Saturday March 11, 2017 the 17th Annual St. Patrick’s Day parade will kick off at 10 a.m. down the main drag at the Rio Washingtonian Center. Various local community groups will be making their way down Boardwalk Place such as the City of Gaithersburg Police Department, the Mayor and City Council Trolly, Girl Scout Troops, Irish Dancing Groups, Pipe Bands and so much more. The event is so popular, you’ll want to plan to arrive early for parking in the various parking garages and lots at the Washingtonian Center. After the parade, there will be live entertainment on the Lakefront Plaza until 1pm. Remember to dress warm as the weather this time of year can be unpredictable. Otherwise, it’s the perfect event for all day St. Patrick’s Day fun!
Shamrock Shuffle Pub Run and Walk
Fleet Feet Sports in the Kentlands will be holding a fun run starting at their location on Thursday March 16, 2017 at 6:30pm. This isn’t any ordinary fun run though. Participants will run and walk their way through the Kentlands area stopping for beer samplers along the way from local businesses. Registration is still open, sign up now. Runners and walkers in the event will receive a customized pub run commemorative adidas pint glass and finish with a party event sponsored by local Kentlands businesses at Pinky and Pepe’s Grape Escape. One of the best parts of the fun run is that all proceeds from the event will benefit Operation Second Chance located in Germantown. Operation Second Chance is a non-profit organization that supports ill or wounded Service member and Veterans at Walter Reed Medical Center during their stay there and during their transition out.
Flanagan’s Harp and Fiddle St. Patrick’s Day Entertainment

They also keep their TVs tuned to international sports, specifically following the Irish soccer and other sports teams. You can celebrate St. Patrick’s Day all day here if you wished next weekend on March 17, 2017. There will be live entertainment all day including the 19th Street band at 8pm and many more before that. There will also be live Irish Dancers and Bag Pipers for that real traditional feel while you get your St. Patrick’s Day party on.
