Greenery, the 2017 Pantone color of the year is “a color snapshot of what we see taking place in our global culture that serves as an expression of a mood and an attitude.” Chosen by the Pantone Color Institute, the company seeks to help businesses in a variety of aesthetic fields including interior design.
As Pantone describes, the color “Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.” Interestingly enough, this bright pastel color matches perfectly with the busiest seasons of the home selling world: spring and summer. Though, Pantone has also included various color combinations that work with Greenery to match any season or look on their website.
If you are considering repainting your home to put up on the market, or you just need a change, keep the 2017 Pantone color of the year (greenery) or the many colors it matches with such as Rose Quartz, Twilight Purple, or Orion Blue. It’s always a good idea to stick to a similar color scheme throughout the entire house when painting. Some tips to keep in mind are sticking with either all warm or cool colors and not mixing the two; also, you can’t go wrong when sticking with about four to six colors at most that are similar and complimentary.
But don’t limit your Greenery use to just paint. It’s a great accent shade to more neutral tones such as grey or beige that would work well on decoration like throw pillows, kitchen table mats, or curtains. A well organized and thoughtfully designed home can never hurt when deciding to put it up on the market.
